No-cost, LGBTQ-friendly counseling in Napa & Calistoga
NOTE, March 24, 2020: due to public health recommendations about physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, our drop-in counseling will be by phone. Please contact us at ian@lgbtqconnection.org or 707-948-6640. Due to the dynamic of the current situation, appointment times and days might change.
We are pleased to bring the community an on-site, LGBTQ-friendly counselor/therapist, Gwendolyn Dean. Gwendolyn offers several hour-long appointments every week at our Napa center (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30p and 4:30p) and Calistoga office (Friday afternoons). To obtain an appointment you are welcome to email ian@lgbtqconnection.org, call the Napa main office (707-251-9432) ahead, or drop-in and sign up for the next available opening that works (often, even same-day). If you are in need, please let us know if our pre-scheduled times at our locations aren't possible as we can sometimes make exceptions to schedule for other times or other Napa County locations.
There are no forms and no eligibility, meaning ANYONE who comes through us gets easy, free and quick access. Additionally, Gwendolyn loves it (and so do we) when folks just come by for advice or to say hello and meet her even if it's not for a full appointment.
Gwendolyn Dean has more than 20 years of experience working with LGBTQ communities including as an activist, organizer and founder of a university-based LGBT resource center. Gwendolyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is happy to support people exploring issues of sexual orientation and gender identity, including, but not limited to: exploring identity, coming out, family acceptance, relationships, dating, stress, civil rights, discrimination, worries, problems (at home, school, work, family, faith community, anywhere), gender, family, complaints, anything you want to know about queer (or straight) sex, self discovery, and much more.
Please contact us if you have any additional questions: ian@lgbtqconnection.org or 707-251-9432.
This free, drop-in counseling is available thanks to a partnership with Napa County Health and Human Services Mental Health Division.
